MidLife Fashion and Style
Fashion for Modern Women at Mid-Life and Beyond. Are There Rules?
If we have to ask the question, we say there are no rules. Well, perhaps a few.
One rule we are committing to is not wearing pajamas or Crocs (sorry Crocs) to the airport. Who knows
who you will run into? Plus, studies show the better you dress the better you are treated.
Do you want to attract opportunities, good energy, and interesting people? You won't by dressing like
you just got out of bed at the airport.
As women enter midlife and beyond, their relationship with fashion has evolved presenting challenges and opportunities
for self-expression. This period can spark a fashion crisis for some, while for others embrace it as a chance to redefine
their personal style. After all, these are our confident times! Dress and be YOU!
Many women in their 40s and 50s often feel they want to dress a certain way but feel they are "supposed" to.
We say.. why not?
WEAR IT. BE IT. EMBRACE IT AND REFINE YOUR STYLE.
The fashion industry typically avoids focusing on women 45+ but that is changing. Here's the good news,
Jennifer Abernethy our Founder at www.Mod.Life® believes "The fashion industry is now using models of all ages at Fashion Week. Many are in their 50's and some in their 80's! The mid-life and beyond economy is the most affluent demographic out there. The fashion brands are now recognizing this, albeit slowly, but it is happening, and Mod.Life® is setting out to make this happen faster.
Tips For Developing Personal Style:
For many women, midlife offers an opportunity to express and refine our style because we are more confident. We have more resources, more self-awareness and more fashion inspiration in our hand (cell phones) to curate a capsule collection wardrobe that truly reflects our personality. Tips for developing personal style:
* Experiment with different styles to find what resonates with you.
*Invest in quality pieces that fit well and make you feel great. Hint: Check out thrift shops in high-income zip codes.
*Don't be afraid to incorporate trends, but do so in a way that feels authentic to you.
* Does it make you feel good? Wear it!
* Solids often look more modern and chic.
Fashion for modern women in midlife and beyond is about much more than following trends or adhering to age-based rules. It's an opportunity for self-expression, creativity, and confidence. We also have the money to begin wearing investment pieces. By embracing our unique style, prioritizing quality and comfort, and challenging outdated norms, modern women 45+ are redefining what it means to be fashionable at any age.
