Pro Aging. Healthy Aging. Anti-Aging.

Pro Aging, Healthy Aging, Anti-Aging - one thing is for sure... people are obsessed with Aging Well.

We believe it's a good thing because the message is loud and clear - Women and Men want to age better than any other time in history. Social media shows us stories of women in their 40’s, 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, and beyond living active, fun, curated lives.

How can we set ourselves up to do the same?

Here are some tips to get started with one key strategy.

Sleep Hygiene.

One thing is for sure, today's modern woman must have a good night’s sleep and sleep hygiene.

What is sleep hygiene?  It's a series of components

1. Optimize Your Sleep Environment: Clean sheets, clean pillows, low to no clutter. Organic mattress. Temp 65-67 degrees. (even crack a window slightly). Have a clean air filter on. Low to no light. “I like to have my curtains open to see the stars and moon and sunlight when I wake up." says Jennifer Abernethy, Founder of Mod.Life®

2. Keep a consistent sleep time. Go to bed at close to the same time each night even weekends. Remember to begin getting ready well before your desired bedtime. Health experts say it's good to be in bed by 10 am if not earlier, but the main thing is to be consistent. Sleep = healthspan.

3. Create a MOD relaxing bedtime routine. No TV at least 2 hours prior. Low relaxing music, or spa music from Spotify. A warm bath or tepid shower to wash off the day. No alcohol at least 3 hours prior. Hot herbal tea is good. No food at least 3 hours prior. Moisturize body. Stretch. Brush and floss teeth. No TV in the bedroom.

4. Add meditation to your evening routine.  Sit with legs crossed hands palm up, close your eyes, and slowly breathe for 10 minutes or longer.

5. Clean and soft sleepwear that you feel most beautiful and/or comfy in.

6. Hydrate before bed and keep a glass of water nearby.

7. Phone away from bed. No tablets or computers in bed. Use an eye mask if needed.

8.  Smile and be grateful for the day. Think of at least one good thing that happened that day.
