Hosting a Bridal Shower?  Get The Cake Early!  

As the mother of the bride, hosting a bridal shower is a joyous occasion, but choosing the perfect cake can feel overwhelming. Little did I know that some people order their cakes 3-6 months in advance…for a Bridal Shower!  So when I set out to order a cake 5 days in advance…I found myself scrambling.  Wow! Who knew?!! 

In 2025, bakeries are busier than ever, with wedding season stretching their schedules thin. The big lesson? Order your cake well in advance—ideally six months prior—to secure your dream design and cake flavor and flowers. 

Trending Designs for 2025
This year’s cake trends are all about bold statements and unique artistry. Think towering tiered confections with vintage flair, dome-shaped cakes for intimate gatherings, or cakes adorned with fresh fruits like berries and figs and certain twigs and leaves. Texture is also key—organic shapes, wavy piping, and mixed media designs are stealing the spotlight. For a nostalgic touch, lambeth-style cakes with chunky buttercream piping are also coming back into favor. 

Flavor Trends to Savor
When it comes to flavors, classic pairings are reigning supreme. Vanilla cake with raspberry or lemon filling is still popular.   Multicultural flavors like coconut, mango, and pandan are also trending, offering a sophisticated twist for modern brides-to-be. 

Pro Tip: Plan Ahead
